the Melbourne Vixens have announced former Bendigo netballer Caitlin Thwaites will join the club for the 2019 Super Netball League season.
The 31 year old was let go by Collingwood yesterday following 2 season with the Magpies - in which she won their best and fairest in 2017.
Thwaites telling the media this morning the opportunity to stay in Victoria close to family was a big drawcard in signing the new 1 year deal with the Vixens.
“It’s a nice synergy that the Vixens was kind of the start for me so I kind of feel like I’m coming home.”
It's been 9 seasons since Thwaites last played for the Vixens - helping win the club win the 2009 premiership in the Trans-Tasman Netball Championship.
She'll replace goal scorer Mwayi Kumwenda in the lineup - who's been ruled out for the next year with an ACL injury.
