Corks 2 Forks is on Saturday at Peterson Park in Edmonton. There will be food trucks, outdoor family movie, amusement rides, bar, fireworks and live music. Entry is $5 with the event from 3pm – 8pm.
The Cairns AFL Grand Final is on at Cazalys on Saturday. The women at 10.30am with Tigers and Hawks. 12.30pm the reserve grade, Crocs and Pyramid, 3pm the Seniors with Crocs and Saints.
The CDRL Grand Final is on Saturday at Barlow Park. The U19’s at 4pm with Cairns Brothers and Kangaroos. The reserves at 5.30pm with Yarrabah and Southern Suburbs. The A Grade at 7pm with Mossman and Tully.
The Palm Cove Surf Life Saving Club are hosting a fundraiser High Tea on Saturday from 2pm – 5pm. Tickets are $55. Food, fun and champagne hosted by Maddi and Mark.
The Alexandra State School in the Daintree is celebrating the 30th anniversary this Saturday at the school. The family event is on from 10am – 2.30pm with displays, entertainment and school tours. The school will have historical displays from Bailey Creek School (1920s) and the Cow Bay School that preceded it.
Huge crowds will be expected to gather at the Veterans’ Health Week Wellness Expo on Saturday. The Expo is being hosted by the Cairns RSL Sub Branch and will be held on the Muddy’s Event Lawn from 10:30am to 12:30pm. Plenty of free food, entertainment, giveaways and over 20 stalls.
Wildlife Habitat Port Douglas will open the world’s first Predator Plank just in time for the September school holidays. The attraction will allow guests to test their courage as they walk the plank over crocodile-filled waters. The new attraction is open from this weekend in Port Douglas.
Animal Education Day is on Saturday from 8am – 1pm at Norman Park Gordonvale. The event will feature market stalls, popular animal organisations, feed suppliers, organic animal food producers, vets, and pet cemetery information. Don't forget to bring your happy, crowd-friendly pet and take part in the Kids and Pet Dress-up Parade.
Fitzroy Island Clean Up is on Sunday from 9.30am – 1.30pm. Volunteers get to enjoy the afternoon on the island after the clean up! Cost is $40 for return boat trip for the first 10 people to register and pay.
