At the Melbourne Storm post Grand Final fan day, the Victorian Government has announced both Cameron Smith and Billy Slater will have a statues erected outside AAMI park.
“I’m very honoured,” Slater said on Monday.
“I’m really proud of the contribution I've made to rugby league in this state and to have a statue is something I’m really proud of.
“I’m excited to see what it looks like.”
Although Smith's future is still undecided and with Slater retiring, both legends of the club will be forever enshrined outside the grounds.
The pair combined for 703 club games, won four NRL premierships and will surely both be Rugby League Immortals in the future.
