Glenn Jacobs - better known as WWE legend Kane - will be the next mayor of Knox County in Tennessee.
Early and absentee voting has showed Jacobs with a nearly 2-1 lead over Democrat Linda Haney, according to local media reports.
Jacobs reportedly had won 34,574 votes to Haney's 18,254.
"Congratulations to Kane on his election!" WWE wrote in a brief statement.
Haney told News Sentinel at 10:50 am Australian time she wouldn't comment until all the votes were in.
"We’re not done yet, and I’m not going to say anything until all the votes are in, and I think that’s the fair way to do it in a democracy," she said.
Jacobs has been sporadic on WWE television ever since announcing his candidacy for mayor, but recently reunited with Daniel Bryan to form Team Hell No once again.
Jacobs has previously said he'll take the mayoral job seriously if elected.
"After I am elected mayor, I’ll be mayor. I may still do a few special things [with WWE]," Jacobs said.
"I’ve done it for 23 years now and have quite a history, it’ll always be part of my life. I think the question is, if I am taking it seriously, and of course I am. I wouldn’t (be running) if not."
